Breathtaking acerage Granny Flat built for Grandma.

Some builds make us remember why we do this work. This is one of them.

This project came to us from a family who had just completed their forever home on a gorgeous acreage property in Wongawallan, surrounded by hinterland ranges, big sky, and the kind of quiet that reminds you why people seek out land. The next chapter? Bringing Grandma home. A place of her own, right there on the property, close to the family she loves.

It's a simple and beautiful idea. Getting it built, however, was anything but simple, because the secondary dwelling exceeded 80m2 internally and the separation between dwellings on the block required it, this project triggered a full council approval process. We won't sugarcoat it, it took far longer than we wanted. The kind of timeline that would test the patience of most people. But this family were, without question, some of the best clients we've ever had the privilege of working with. Trusting, communicative, and genuinely a pleasure at every step. We worked through every hurdle together, kept the lines open, and never lost sight of what we were building toward.

And what we built was worth it.

From the moment you see it in the aerial, you understand what makes this build special. Tucked into the treeline, colour-matched seamlessly to the main house, it looks like it was always meant to be there. Step inside and the quality speaks immediately. A crisp white kitchen with stone island bench, white subway tile splashback, dark timber-look flooring, and full-height cabinetry all clean, considered, and built to last. The open-plan living space opens out to a 12m2 alfresco area that sits quietly among the trees.

Both bedrooms have ample space, carpeted, and fitted with split-system air conditioning, ceiling fans, and built-in robes. The master has direct wardrobe access and its own outlook into the surrounding bushland. 

The bathrooms are a standout with full-height white subway tile, matte black fixtures throughout, frameless glass shower screens, vessel basins, and floating white vanities. Sophisticated and exactly right for this home.
